Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Orelys when you use the website or a paid plan.
On this page
1The service
- 1.1
Orelys is a search layer over the Intelligence X archives, used through its website and, on the plans that include it, its API. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Orelys.
- 1.2
Orelys is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Intelligence X.
2Who can use it
You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, and you must use the service in line with the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms.
3Your account
- 3.1
You need an Orelys account to run searches. Your plan and your daily quota are attached to that account.
- 3.2
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials private.
- 3.3
One person, one account. Creating several accounts to multiply free requests is not allowed.
- 3.4
Write to support@orelys.io straight away if you think your account has been used without your permission.
- 3.5
Forgot your password? Ask for a reset link on the Forgot password page. It goes to the email address of your account only, works once for 30 minutes, and choosing a new password signs out every device and revokes your API key. A password is never reset on a request from another address, including one written to support.
- 3.6
You can delete your account yourself from the Account page of your dashboard, by confirming your username and your password. Deletion takes effect straight away and cannot be undone. Time left on a paid plan is not refunded. The Privacy Policy lists what is deleted and what is kept.
4Plans and payment
- 4.1
Paid plans run for 30 days. The price is the one shown at checkout when you pay.
- 4.2
No plan renews automatically, and no payment method is kept on file. When a plan ends, the account returns to the free plan.
- 4.3
Payments are made by card, through Paylio, or in cryptocurrency, through Plisio. Card details are entered on the payment provider's page and never reach Orelys.
- 4.4
API access is included in the Professional and Enterprise plans, not in the Free and Starter plans. See “The API” below.
- 4.5
A plan is activated on the Orelys account used at checkout once the payment provider confirms the payment. Activating a plan refills that day’s quota.
- 4.6
If a confirmed payment does not match its order — a different amount or currency, for example — the plan is not activated automatically and the order is checked by hand. Write to support@orelys.io with the order reference.
- 4.7
Buying the plan you already have while it is active extends its end date by 30 days.
- 4.8
Buying a higher-priced plan while a lower one is active starts the new plan straight away. The time left on the old plan is converted at the ratio of the two plans’ 30-day prices and added to the new period.
- 4.9
A lower-priced plan cannot be bought while a higher one is active. If such a payment is still confirmed, its value is converted into extra time on your current plan, at the ratio of the two plans’ 30-day prices.
- 4.10
A plan’s end date can never be more than 3,650 days after the payment is confirmed. Time that would go beyond that limit is not added.
- 4.11
Each plan’s daily quota and the modules it includes are the ones shown on the site when you pay.
- 4.12
Each search takes 1 request from your daily quota, and so does each raw-file download. Moving between result pages and exporting Phonebook results are free.
- 4.13
If the search service fails, or rejects a search because it found nothing, the request is given back to your daily quota. A search that completes with an empty list, or returns an empty file, still takes its request. The result screen says whether a request was taken.
- 4.14
How many requests an account can make depends on its plan: at most 10 a minute and 1 at a time on the Free plan, 30 a minute and 2 at a time on the Starter plan, 60 a minute and 3 at a time on the Professional plan, and 120 a minute and 5 at a time on the Enterprise plan.
- 4.15
Daily quotas reset every day at 02:00 Paris time.
5The API
- 5.1
API access comes with the Professional and Enterprise plans. It stops as soon as the account is no longer on one of them, for example when a plan ends.
- 5.2
Your API key is personal, like your password. Do not share it, and do not put it in a web page or an app that other people use. If it may have leaked, regenerate it from your dashboard: the old key stops working straight away.
- 5.3
Send the key in a request header only. Calls that carry an API key in the URL are refused, and the key is revoked: a URL ends up in logs.
- 5.4
The API uses the same account, daily quota and limits as the dashboard. A search takes a request exactly as it does on the website, and the per-minute and simultaneous limits of the account's plan are shared between the two. An address can also make at most 120 API calls a minute.
- 5.5
These terms and the Acceptable Use Policy apply to the API as they do to the website.
6Refunds
Once a plan has been activated, payments are final, to the extent permitted by the law that applies to you. The free plan exists so you can try the service before paying. A request given back after a failed search goes back to your daily quota; it is not a refund of money.
7Search results
Results come from Intelligence X and other third-party sources. Orelys formats them but does not verify them, and makes no promise that a record is accurate, complete, current, or lawful for you to use. Deciding how you use a result is your responsibility.
8Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. An account closed for misuse is not refunded.
9Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Orelys is not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by the use of search results or by the unavailability of a third-party source.
10Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced on our Telegram channel.
